Quick history of the beef sirloin.
The now legendry name is thought to have come from the French word 'surloynge'. This is made up of 2 parts - 'sur', (over or above) and 'loynge' (loin), although there is some historical division over this.
Being British we tend to opt for an alternative Lancastrian legend of the knight Sir Loin. Whichever you believe, the organic beef sirloin roast is an exceptional joint.
