The farm in Mochdre, Montgomeryshire, has been in the family since the 1940s. Jonathan Rees, the proprietor of Graig Farm Organics, has lived there all of his life. The farm is very much a family affair. Jonathan’s parents have an active role; so do his wife Sally and their four children. Young sons Maldwyn, Max, and Archie, and daughter Annie do all they can to get involved!

For many years, Jonathan has had a passion for organic farming. It was his dream to rear great tasting produce, without the sheer number of additives often used in industrial farming. Synthetic pesticides, fertilisers, hormones, unnecessary drugs – these and more all harm our health, not to mention Wales' precious environment.
In 1999 the family finished the transition to organic farming, and we have not looked back since.
As a result, we have won a series of prestigious awards, including the ‘True Taste’ awards, in recognition of the quality of our organic meat. Remember how Welsh lamb is argued to be the best? The Rees’ have won awards for their lamb five times. In 2022, we won the Silver Award for organic lamb, and in 2019 achieved the top prize for our organic sirloin of lamb.

We take pleasure in watching our lambs and cattle graze on lush pastures full of grasses, clovers, and herbs. Our pigs forage in the woods as their wild counterparts do. Furthermore, our poultry have plenty of land to free-range on, more than many supermarket free-range brands do.
As for our fish and game, they're sourced as locally as possible to the farm. Our standards ensure the fishermen and hunters we work with are as organic and sustainable as we are on the farm.
