By working with James Evans, an organic farmer/vegetable processor in the Welsh Marches, we are able to bring you a good variety of fresh organic vegetables and fruit of the very best quality. 8 types of box are available and contents change regularly. Contents are adapted and balanced to give a constant cost, whilst maintaining variety.

The emphasis is on UK production, although imported produce is used to ensure variety. The contents of the boxes reflect the seasons, and the natural cropping patterns of UK horticulture. A balance has to be struck between an enjoyable, good value box, with the odd surprise ingredient, and the ethics of organic food, which is to use what is available in its natural season, and a minimising of 'food miles'.

Our Suppliers
James Evans, and his father Brian farm organically in nearby Herefordshire. The Evans's are members of the Graig Producers marketing Group, which is a collaborative organisation which helps organic livestock farmers to sell their organic livestock.
James's philosophy is very much in line with Graig Farm's, which is to use local produce wherever possible. As a result of this, if produce is not available on his own farm, he sources the balance as locally as possoble. Obviously, there are times of the year when it is necessary to use imported produce, but this will be only if nothing is avalaible locally.
The Range
Organic Vegetable Boxes
The vegetable selection is a choice of three sizes of boxes, containing a seasonal selection of organic vegetables. In addition, extra potatoes can be ordered.
 | Standard Suitable for a two or three person household. Containing 9 varieties, including usually potato, carrot and onions. |
 | Medium Suitable for a three or four person household. Containing 10 varieties, including usually potato, carrot and onions. |
 | Large For the larger household. Usually a total of 11 varieties including usually potato, carrot and onions. Approximately one and a half times the small box for greater quantity, with similar variety.By way of illustration, the photos below show a sample selection of vegetables. Weights and varieties will vary week by week, and through the season. |
 | A seasonally avaialble mixed box of 9 varieties of salad, ideal for a family. An example would be: Celery, lettuce, green pepper, red pepper, salad leaves pack, spinach, salad onion, tomato, avocado.(see illustrative picture left). |
Organic UK Winter Soup/Casserole Veg Box
With most of the contents grown on James Evans's Herefordshire farm (some 10 miles from Graig Farm), this is a local seasonal box which is great for making a delicious soup, or casseroles, or indeed, just as a source of great UK organic vegetables! The few vege which James does not grow are sourced in the Welsh Borders.

Organic Fruit
With fruit, UK production is more seasonable than with vegetables, especially under organic production systems, and choice is more limited. There tends therefore to be a greater variety of imported fruits than may be the case with the vegetables.

Organic Juicing Boxes
Two boxes, ideal for making your own fresh fruit juice. Available as 10kg of organic apples or organic oranges. Good to know that there will not be chemical residues on the fruit skins, as may be the case with intensively grown fruit.

Over 3 kg of delicious oranges, ideal for juicing, or just peeling and eating by segments!
