Organic Wool Fleeces
Our beautiful woollen fleeces are produced from sheep on the Yule's family farm near Monmouth (for details of the farm, click here). The farm, being organic, uses no herbicides, routine pesticides or antibiotics in the production of sheep.
The fleeces are tanned to an exceptionally high standard at a local organic (Demeter) tannery using only natural, vegetable agents. The natural tanning process gives a quality rose/beige suede back.
With time, the rugs may mature to a gold colour, particularly in strong light. The shorter-haired fleeces may be used for babies, the stronger, later season ones for adults or for furnishing or floor covering.
The rugs are machine-washable with care. Minimum length at centre is 95 cms.
