Organic Single Grain Scotch WHISKY
The (pronounced Da Vee Lay) whisky from Springbank Distillery is the world's first organic whisky. It was commissioned by Welsh organic farmer John Savage-Onstwedder. The first bottling, from spirit distilled in 1992 was ready for the millennium celebrations - Da Mhile is Gaelic for 2000. It was greeted with wide acclaim.

This the second distillation is also receiving very positive reviews. Described by Richard Joynson K.Q, Loch Fyne Whiskies, Inveraray as :
Nose: A nice toasted cereal note, not too oily compared with most single grain whiskies. Clean and fully mature;
Taste: Soft and sweet with a hint of almonds."

Nose: Soft, lush and sweet with distant echo of bubble gum; clean, rich and honest.
Taste : Fat in the mouth with most beautiful coating of silky grain; uncomplex but oak delivers a vanilla sheen to the middle.
Finish: Remains velvety-textured despite gentle waves of spice and late oaky bitterness to balance out the simple, underlying sweetness.
Balance: A calm, genteel grain up to the usual very high Loch Lomond standards and always exuding a certain, effortless touch of class.

The production involves no chill filtering - a process which removes much of the flavour, nor the addition of caramel for colouring. It is indeed an entirely natural product, and rather special.

Highland Harvest

An appealing new whisky - a blend of 3 grain whiskies (highland, island and Speyside) with a highland malt, matured together in Scotland for 4 years. Distilled using natural barley and yeast, much as whisky was made a hundred years ago.
"Soft and sweet with light notes of pine and light fruit, green melon, vanilla and (in time) allspice and fresh oak - gentle. On the palate that allspice kicks in again: very spicy, creamy and tingling with good feel. Flavours carry well on from the nose. Soft. the finish is clean and refreshing. A weel put together blend - worth a look."
