Organic Soups & Salads
The Story
The wonderfully titled "Knobbly Carrot Company" was started by farmer's son Julian Evans, his wife Debbie and family friend Stephanie Bond at Lampterer in West Wales.
As Julian says "All our organic vegetables are bought locally as there is an abundance of pioneering organic farmers in the area. We are keen to support these wherever possible." 
The success of the business has been very encouraging, according to Stephanie "We have a home-made salad and soup bar in the delicatessen part of our premises which has been a roaring success.
Due to the popularity and fame of this venture we were invited to exhibit and sell our products in the Food Hall at the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show. The products were received with great excitement and we could hardly keep up with the demand; constantly being asked, “where can we buy these from?” People from all over the country and different backgrounds all loved them. We realised then that there was a genuine need in the market place for our products.
Using the finest ingredients, Chef Stephanie Bond has created a comprehensive range of ready-to-eat organic salads and soups. She intends to add new varieties in the near future.
Julian sums up their philosophy : "Here at the Knobbly Food Company we believe in health amd happiness. That is why all of our delicious soups and salads contain a very special ingredient, available to all but rarely used — care. They are made by hand in small batches with the utmost attention to every detail. We trust our vital ingredient will help to keep our customers happy and contented".We at Graig Farm agree with Julian, and hope you too will enjoy his soups and salads.

Fresh Soups

Cream of Broccoli Soup
We have created this rich and creamy favourite by using only the freshest organic ingredients giving that “just picked” flavour.
Minestrone
Not only does it look delicious but it tastes delicious too. Enough to satisfy even the heartiest of appetites.
Cream of Courgette and Lemon
An unexpected combination that certainly works! A delicate bouquet with a hint of lemon - amazing!
Leek and Potato
Everybody’s favourite! A traditional Welsh recipe using Wales finest vegetables — cooked to perfection.
Sweetcorn Chowder
Thick and creamy with that delightful flavour of sun ripened sweetcorn, combined with roast red peppers, sweet herbs and caramelised onions to make a real “stick to your ribs” chowder.
Sunshine Tomato and Orange
A traditionally thick, rich and wholesome tomato soup. Thick creamy and full of goodness with a warm round flavour, topped with that amazing orange zing!
Celtic Carrot
Just seeing the natural amber colour of this soup makes you feel good. Thick creamy and slightly spiced. Wonderful at any time.
Creamy Mushroom and Garlic
This is a soup few can resist made with fresh mushrooms, roasted garlic and caramelised onions, blended with sweet herbs, definitely a winner.
Red Dragon
A dish bold enough to carry the Welsh emblem. Full bodied and mildly spicy. a soup with attitude!
Celery and Apple
A classic combination delightfully united in this fragrant soup — tasting is believing!

The old favourite, a must for every salad, fresh, crunchy and delicious.
Rice Salad
Delightful nutty flavour, this rice salad complements any meal. A snack with picklesC perhaps or why not try rice stuffed tomatoes?
Pasta Salad
Devilishly tasty with the tang of organic calamata olives, complementing our very own salad dressing as it clings to the twisting ribbons of pasta, a meal to fantasise over!
Potato Salad
Bite sized pieces of cooked potato nestling with ribbons of onions and herbs and the finest organic mayonnaise.
Hummus
Our very own secret recipe creamy and full bodied with lemon and garlic —wonderful as a dip, sandwich filling or an alternative to a vegetable on a plate - we guarantee our hoummous is irresistible!
Cous-Cous
Delicious hot or cold with a salad or a main meal — try a spoonful in your soup - yummy!
Bean Salad
Colourful and crunchy this healthy salad would make even the plainest plate of food appealing.
