Bacheldre Watermill
Winner of several prestigious awards, Bacheldre Watermill produces a range of organic and traditional flours, using traditional equipment and methods. The watermill near Welshpool in mid-Wales was first recorded in 1575, and was rebuilt in 1747. Much of the equipment is also very old. It is technically an overshot watermill with French burr millstones.

The specially selected organic grain is is stoneground slowly and gently in order to produce flour which retains all the natural goodness of the wholegerm. This slow milled process only slightly warms the flour leaving all the natural flavours intact.

Bacheldre WatermillThe strong flours are excellent for bread makers and for hand baking, and the specialties include Durum wheat flour for pasta and pizza bases, as well as the unusual spelt and other flours.

'We make traditional flour using high quality grain,' says Matt Scott the miller, who believes quality basic ingredients such as flour are just as important as other ingredients when creating top class dishes. 'Flour is sometimes overlooked, but with more people using bread makers these days they want to make a better loaf.'

Organic white flour

Organic Stoneground Strong Unbleached White flour has been gently dressed to sift out the bran. We don’t pass our white flour through any bleaching/heating processes to artificially whiten it. Very small particles of bran pass through the sieve and this characterises the natural wheaten colour of the bread.

Uses : Ideal for bread making.

Organic Wholemeal flour

Organic Stoneground Strong 100% Wholemeal flour is just that – 100% wholemeal flour, nothing added and nothing taken away. The bread made will be full flavoured and very satisfying! Try blending with up to 50% white for a lighter texture.

Uses : Ideal for bread making.

Organic malted flour

Organic Stoneground Strong Malted Blend flour makes an excellent Granary type loaf. A Blend of Unbleached White Flour, 100%Wholemeal and specially malted rolled wheat flakes. This produces a wholesome loaf with a sweet malted taste and crunchy texture.

Uses : Ideal for bread making.

Organic fine wholemeal flour

Organic Stoneground Durum Flour is made from the finely ground, exceptionally high quality, Italian durum wheat.

Uses : Durum is high in protein and gluten making it the wheat of choice for Pasta and Pizza bases.

Organic Rye flour

Organic Stoneground Rye Flour is milled from a hardy cereal grass, rye flour contains less gluten than wholemeal flour. For that reason, it won't produce a well-risen loaf of bread without the addition of some higher-protein flour.

Uses : It is ideal for sourdoughs, German and Scandinavian breads.

Organic Spelt flour

Organic Stoneground Spelt Flour is an ancient relative of modern wheat, it has a delicious and distinctive nutty wheaty flavour. Spelt contains gluten which makes it ideal for bread making; the gluten, however is more fragile than that found in wheat, making it easier to digest.

Uses : Ideal for bread making.

Organic stoneground fine wholemeal flour

Organic Stoneground Fine Wholemeal flour is specially produced by milling the wheat until it is finely ground.

Uses : It is excellent for chapattis, pastry making and for baking & bread making.

Organic Stoneground Strong Brown flour makes a very traditional brown loaf. This flour is produced in the same way as the White flour but with a slightly coarser sifting and therefore includes a proportion of fine bran.

Uses : It produces excellent rolls, brown bread or Bara Brith. Ideal for bread making.

Organic Stoneground Fine Bran Flakes from Bacheldre Mill are a great treat.

Uses : add to muesli or cereals, fruit cakes or yoghurt.

Organic Stoneground Strong Malted 5-seed Flour
This flour is a unique blend of stoneground wheat flour, malted wheatflakes, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, golden linseeds, sesame seeds and fennel seeds. Linseeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds and sunflower seeds can add variety to your diet and give your health a boost. Linseeds have proved to be an inportant source of omega-3 fatty acids.
 Organic Stoneground Oak-smoked malted four
Organic Stoneground Stron Oak Smoked Malted Flour
This unusual flour is made with Bacheldre's award winning Organic Stoneground Strong Malted Blend Flour and given a distinctive twist. The malted wheat flakes from the mill are cold smoked over locally sourced oak chippings for 18 hours in the smokehouse. These are then gently mixed with the Organic Stoneground Malted Blend Flour to Bacheldre's secret recipe. The bread baked from this flour is delicious and is great just with butter, it also makes an excellent smoky pizza base.

Doves Farm
Based on the Wiltshire/Berkshire border, Doves Farm Foods was established in 1978 by Michael and Clare Marriage. All the products found under the Doves Farm label are all based upon grains and cereals or are complimentary to them.One of the pioneers of organic flour, Doves Farm in Berkshire has won many awards for the quality of its flours, which are ideal for cake making and baking.

Located in rural Wiltshire, the Marriage family has farmed here since 1958. Michael and Clare Marriage first became interested in sustainable, organic farming 26 years ago and wanted to produce safe, healthy and nutritious food, without damaging the environment. Doves Farm is mainly arable and offers the finest grain and cereal products, these include English Wheat, Spelt - an ancient variety of wheat, Rye, Oats and Beans.
