Atlantic College

The farm at Atlantic College covers about 20 hectares or 50 acres, which is approximately one third of the College Estate.

It is an all grass farm, situated on the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, 20 miles west of Cardiff.

The farm produces about 10 Aberdeen Angus cross beef cattle, and 60—70 Charollais or Texel cross lambs each year. All of these are born and reared as naturally as possible on the farm, feeding on their mother’s milk and grass.

The farm was certified as organic in March 2002 by the Soil Association after a two year conversion period.

A major role of the farm is to help conserve and enhance the environment in the area, and to give students studying at the College, who wish to learn something about organic agriculture and animal husbandry, the opportunity to do so.

Further details of Atlantic College may be obtained from the website at www.uwc.org
