Graig Farm & the Local Community
We are especially lucky at Graig Farm to be living and working in a rural community which is still thriving, despite having lost all our pubs, and the village shop and Post Office. We have an excellent award-winning school in the village, and a newly-built Community Hall. There are many village organisations, including the Women's Institute, Young Farmers, and despite our small community size, 3 places of worship, as well as several sports teams.
We try to do our best to maintain the cohesion of the community, by a policy of buying resources as locally as possible.
Dolau Station
We employ some 20 local staff, and many of the members of the Graig Farm Producer Group, which supplies animals to us, are within a 20 mile radius. With staff and livestock costs being our two largest spends at Graig Farm, much of our turnover remains in the local community.
We believe it is essential to maintain vibrant local rural communities, especially in sparsely populated areas such as mid-Wales.
We also have a traceability system in place which enables you to find the exact farm that your leg of mutton or beef joint came from. For more info please click here
